KARUNA is a film on Sri Lankan refugees. The ethic conflict in Sri Lanka is more than 50 years old. But the violence reached its peak in 1983 July killing thousands of Tamil minority using brutal methods of torture. Ever since the so called Tamil Freedom Movement took a different turn taking revenge in a more brutal fashion. Nearly two years ago they bombed a bus that killed 80 innocent civilians. i went to the same village with my camera to listen to their story. It was very moving. i thought i must narrate this story in Sinhala. But please note that this film only represent one side of the story. i am now in making of the EVEN sad story of innocent TAMIL & MUSLIM kids in the North and East of Sri Lanka.
